If the degree required for the position was obtained from a non-US university, USCIS requires that an educational credential evaluation be submitted along with a copy of the diploma/degree certificate in order to verify that it is equivalent to a US degree in that field. Please note: an evaluation is needed only for the degree that is required for the position (e.g., for the PhD), not for other degrees.
There are many agencies in the United States specialize in the evaluation of foreign educational credentials. Below is a limited list of some of them. This is not an exhaustive list and is not intended to be an endorsement of one agency over another.
You may also go to the website of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) for a list of member agencies: https://www.naces.org/
Please Note: Some agencies issue credential evaluations in a sealed envelope, as they consider it to be official only when it is in a sealed envelope. If you work with an agency that does this, you will need to also request a copy of the evaluation from the evaluation agency and provide it to the ISchO for our records, in addition to the one in the sealed envelope which will be submitted to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) with the related immigration petition.
